“My world revolves around suggestion, insinuation. What I’ve always been looking for is poetry”
Ferran Freixa
Known by his exceptional ability to capture and sublimate the state of things, Ferran Freixa (1950-2021) is a member of a generation that fostered the flowering of the creative photography in Catalonia. His meticulous compositions and the majestic use of natural light, create an atmosphere of quietness and serenity that invites contemplation. His works, exposed in galleries and museums of all Europe, United States and Asia, are reaffirmed in the inherent stability of the square format and the use of black and white. His photos highlight the natural light, frontality, the points of view, the equilibrated compositions, and a leisurely pace of work, that allowed him to capture the passage of time.
